     What kind of damage can clogged gutters It is hard to imagine the extensive damage that can be caused by something as delicate as a leaf. Leaves can clog gutters and downspouts resulting in severe problems and expensive home repairs.

LEAF RELIEF GUTTER PROTECTION:

Leaf Protection Over the years I have seen many different types of so called leaf protection. They range from inexpensive screens to unbelievably expensive covers. As these products have been developed their manufacturers have approached us to sell and install their goods. I have not seen too many with which I was impressed. In fact, it seems the more you spend, the less they work. The only product that I've seen and actually like is Alcoa's® Leaf Relief. This is a high quality aluminum cover that has no interaction with your roof shingles and is very effective at keeping debris out of the gutter. It is a quality product that lasts for many years and, comparably speaking, is quite affordable. 



 

                    DROP IN SCREEN GUARD:
                                      
   Expanded aluminum (or copper) drop-in screening has an edge strip that attaches to the top front lip of the gutter with zip screws. The back edge rests under the shingles. This product is approximately 75% effective and the small pieces of leaves that can infiltrate usually wash down the downspout. Debris may build up on top of the screens in some instances, but the screens still allow the gutters to function properly.
